Like most teachers, Meagan Inghram and Monica Rader were checking in on their students during eLearning. It didn’t take long for them to find a common concern that was deeper than academics—their students were hungry.
It was then that the two Adams Middle School teachers joined forces to feed families that needed a bit more support.
In only 24 hours, Inghram and Rader raised $1,500 in donations from local businesses and individual sponsors to purchase meals and deliver them to families. To date, they have raised $6,600, allowing them to feed more than 20 families.
Thanks to the support of their community partners, the school now plans to build a food pantry on site to help feed students throughout the summer.
