The Communications team promotes the advantages of the public school educational system in Hillsborough County. We develop and support district and school marketing efforts to increase enrollment and enhance brand image. We seek to provide a clear vision of student achievement as a top priority for Hillsborough Schools, as well as consistently share good news of successes happening in the classroom.
The team communicates the strategic plan for Hillsborough County Public Schools which is a five-year process of school improvement to Prepare Students for Life. The strategic plan has four main priorities: increase graduation rates, enhance communication with stakeholders, build strong culture and relationships and build a foundation of financial stewardship.
We utilize various tools of communication to engage with key stakeholders, including:
NewsDesk – An online news blog
Hillsborough Schools TV - Live on Spectrum (635) and Frontier (32), focusing on educational programming that enriches learning to our students and community
Inside HCPS – A talk show with Superintendent Jeff Eakins that highlights our schools and teachers
Social Media – Facebook, Twitter, Instagram and YouTube Channels
We also serve as the Public Information Office, responding to media inquiries and sharing story ideas. Our goal is to respond in a timely fashion to all requests from national, state, and local media. We also provide assistance with ParentLink, the communications system that reaches our families through email, text and voice calls. We support district communication in crisis situations.
