Students to Receive Healthy Meals During the Summer Break

May 26, 2017

Tampa, Fla. – (May 26, 2017) – Even though school is out for the summer, students have several opportunities to receive nutritionally balanced meals as Hillsborough County Public Schools rolls out the Movin’ Meals summer food service program.

For the sixth year now, our Student Nutrition Services employees are bringing food into many of our communities through our Movin’ Meals “food buses”. Five retired and renovated district school buses are delivering meals into neighborhoods offering breakfast and lunch. Students can eat on the air-conditioned buses.

Every year, Hillsborough County Public Schools tries to reach communities where children may not have access to a neighborhood school or park. The Movin’ Meals bus is very visible and the children know it represents a good meal, but more than that, it represents our determination to feed our children during out of school time.

Last year, Hillsborough County Public Schools provided thousands of meals from the buses and are ready to start again next Tuesday, May 30.

The buses will stop at a number of locations throughout the area. See times and locations below:
