Safe Routes to School is a county-wide effort to promote walking and biking to school and making walking to school, safe, popular, and fun for families. In an effort to decrease traffic congestion around schools and increase safety, academic performance and wellness for HCPS students, the Transportation Department has collaborated with Hillsborough MPO School Transportation Working Group.

Roosevelt Side Walk Stompers - Watch Video!
Palma Ceia Sidewalk Stompers powers community building and safer pedestrian pathways via school-based walking programs and public advocacy. Supported by the school's PTA and the Palma Ceia Neighborhood Association, SideWalk Stompers started "Walk to School Wednesdays", in an effort to make a once-a-week walk to school part of the routine. District Celebrates Walk to School Day - Watch Video!
Wednesday, October 5th Hunters Green Elementary was one of many schools that joined the movement as they celebrated the 20th anniversary of Walk to School Day. Other elementary schools that participated included: Westchase, Mabry, Sulfur Springs, Kimbell, Mort, Summerfield Crossing, and Chiles Elementary.
