develop awareness at all facilities
reduce utility costs by at least 12%
conduct detailed studies of electric, gas, water and sewage usage
develop and monitor incentive award programs in schools
interface with utility companies
review and evaluate utility billing for HCPS

Congratulations to Buchanan Middle School for earning the Ryan A. Raines Energy Award for the 2015-2016 school year. This award is given to a school each year who saves the most energy in memory of Ryan A Raines who was an Energy Mentor for HCPS. Staff and students received a $1000.00 award and a permanent plaque to display at their school.
Earth Hour is a worldwide event organized by the World Wildlife Fund and held towards the end of March annually. It encourages households and businesses to turn off their lights for one hour in order to raise awareness about energy conservation. HCPS Earth Hour took place on March 28, 2014 from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. (or the last hour of the work day). Click here to learn more about Earth Hour.
